I downloaded all of the neccessary stuff, or at least what i thought to be all of the neccessary items to run a shoutcast server. I even downloaded the Winamp plug-in for it. I can get the server program to run, and when I load the Winamp plug-in, it connects fine, and uploads to the server program. I am doing this all from the same box also.
The problem has been that people who try to connect to my appearing functional server don't hear anything. They say it buffers, but they don't get any sound. I read the readme that came with the Winamp plug-in and it said ShoutCast needs an MP3 codec!!! Shoutcast didn't say anthing about this, but it must be true, because my server isn't working
.
If anyone has done this with shoutcast, or thinks they can help, please do
. Thanks everyone. Lata.
