Shouldn't my computer be fast enough to run this

I just built a barebones system a week ago, got it in the mail today, installed latest drivers. Tried to run band of brothers, was kinda skippy, changed settings to low and same thing. Ran Tiger woods 2005, not impressed with the quality of graphics. Ran as good as my old geforce 5200. Shouldnt i be able to run these games at high settings w/o overclocking? Or did I expect too much?

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (939)
Asus A8N-SLI
512 MB crucial Ram
512 MB kingston Ram
1 VGA CHAIN TECH SLI GF 6600GT 128MB

I would hope that the memory is the same speed. Generally as long as their the same it should run just fine.

Make sure you have the latest drivers and make sure that your chipset drivers are intsalled as well.

50 and 900 or 1 ghz depending if it's agp or pci-e(pci-e clocked higher)
probably a bad driver install? if you reinstall it and it dosent work, try ocing ti to 500/900 and if it cant hit those speeds, check if its a 6600(plain, you may have gotteen) or a 6600gt from the sticker on the card and if it's a 6600gt, RMA it.

Something is definately worng there!

Your Core should be at 500MHz, and your memory should be at 1000MHz effective.

Have you checked your Ram timings with CPU-Z?

I don't know how this could cause this, but what kind of powersupply are you using?

Is your bus speed at 200? Your memory is at 167? Is your memory running at 5:4 or is your bus at 167 too? Is AA at 8x & AF at 16x? Try new drivers for the video card as well.

It would be really helpful if you could list the current output CPU-Z has for your CPU frequency, your FSB frequency, and your RAM frequency, just so we can be sure that your system(minus the video card) is running correctly. Past that, if you want to try to fix your video card's frequencies, look for instructions on how to enable CoolBits for your ForceWare drivers; once enabled an overclocking option will become available to see what the card is set at, and allows these settings to be adjusted.
