Shouldn't Geico/Progressive be cheaper than Nationwide/State Farm/Allstate since they are direct?

Perhaps.

But a tool with quite a bit of experience in actuarial rate development of automobile insurance (including a significant exposure to pricing models for various major competitors), and a firm understanding of business practices of property and casualty lines.

And you?

Geico saved me a fortune vs. my old insurance company... One of these days, I'll shop around again, and see if anyone has a better rate.
3 cars, one with full coverage, WELL under 1k per year.
