Should win2k normally shut down automaticly?

i recently rebuilt a system with old hardware and w2k, but when i shut down, (atx case btw) win2k just comes to the old style "its safe to shut down" screen. Isnt there a way to make it just totally shut down my system without having to press the button off?

Check BIOS for power management settings.

Set to custom and then disable various subcategories.

I had this problem on an old Pentium 2 machine I installed Win2k on. It was ATX also, so I figured it wasn't harming anything so I just left it. Never found a fix for it though.

I remember having that problem but don't remember the fix.
Have u got SP4 installed ???
