The wife & I have been planning a trip to Cedar Point for this weekend. We have reserved a room at the Breakers Hotel at the park. Are kids really don?t know what we have planned and we are worried about the weather turning for the worst after we get there. We are planning on checking in at 3-4:00 pm and the park opens at 6:00 pm Friday night. Then spend Saturday morning swimming in the hotel pool before going to the park. We can bring warm clothes and take in shows if it rains, but I don?t want our two younger daughters have a bad time because of the weather.

Weather Forecast

What do you think we should do?

Do this:

Call and see if their new "Top Thrill" dragster will be up and running:

NO - stay home

YES - go and experience WILD acceleration and a VERTICAL drop!!!!!!!!

We won't be going for those kind of rides, our children are 8, 4, & 2. But thanks for the recommendation.

ok ok I admit, I was scared shitless, plus Kalpana made me ride the power tower twice in the span of 15 minutes (no lines) and I almost threw up after that and couldnt do anything else. wicked twister looked awesome too...but I was stuck on the ferris wheel, since I couldnt stomach anything else..

What exactly is it you plan on doing that requires a park full of giant rollercoasters if you're not going to go on giant rollerocasters?

They have the best kid rides of any park we have ever been to. Kid Arthur's Kingdom, Camp Snoopy, and Bearstein Bears Land. Plus the train ride and a walk through Frontier Land.

Cedar Point is without a doubt the best theme park i've ever been to. I went about 1.5 months ago and had a BLAST. The Top Thrill Dragster was open but the train kept coming back and it took them forever to get it reset. The first time we were about 45 minutes away from riding and the thing went down for 2 hours for repairs. We ended up waiting 4 hours in line but it was worth it, the second time we only waited about 1.5-2 hours. The Milennium Force also kicks ass, it's worth the wait too :)
