I can't imagine the rif-raf that would be posted in ATOT...

Yeah, that's a good point :p

But it would cool to have a nice "OWNED" picture at the end of a nice quip :)

How big is this board compared to AT?

It's fine the way it is with clicks.

they should change that, so when you quote a pick it only shows the pick link, not the actual pic itself.
That should be fun to code. ;)

I voted no. I think it makes the board look cheap and cluttered with pictures showing in the threads. Nothing annoys me more than a 500x500 pixel picture in a signature. And you KNOW people will be posting pictures in their signatures.

I meant pic not pick of course ;) should be easy to code.. when the user quotes the message w/
tags just replace them w/ [link][/link] tags (or whatever the img and link tags are).

I think it would be cool to give users the option of showing pictures or not - kind of like how you can choose the enhanced version of the forums, or the 56k friendly version. Select the enhanced version and you'll see the pictures, select the 56k friendly version and a link to the picture will automatically appear in place of the picture :p

The best of both worlds - you can thank me later, I expect to be paid royalties if this feature is ever implemented in the future :p

I would only want pic posting *IF* the forum software automatically resized all pics to like 640x480. I HATE opening a thread and seeing some big ass picture thats got the formatting all screwed up.

um.. the pics wouldn't be hosted on AT.
Some forums do store them on the server. There are the tags and there are also places with the ability to attach pictures to the post that will then be stored on the forums' servers.

Not bad, but imagine what the AT Mods would have to deal with.

I think the main problem would be that a lot of people here post from work. Once in a while you will always get a troll who posts a seemingly innocent thread title w/ the goatsecx man pic in it. That could be trouble for the worker bees.

Although if you were able to disable the automatic display of pics (which I'm sure you would be), it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

Ok..if that were possible and done, I would either want the option to not view pictures, and/or have them resized to no larger than 640x480 like Shockwave mentioned. Then i'd be ok with it.

I still voted no though. I think it looks horrible as a whole.

Yes but if people start to abuse it then increase the ban times or perma ban them.

We'd have to have the option of allowing our pic to be posted as an IMG pic, or a link. With a forum of 10k active users, I don't have enough bandwidth on my sites to have everyone draw from my site everytime the thread is opened.

There are color monitors now?

When did that happen?

Don't know about you, but they would never make an a$$hole like me a mod.

I say ... let the user decide. Put an option up on user profile for displaying images.
For those that have it enabled, an tag would display the picture. For those who have it disabled, a link for the image comes up.

Simple idea ... and you have the best of both worlds.

I initially agree with you 100%.
I always wanted to be able to post pictures in this forum.
I suggested subscribers should be able to have this function but that didn't go anywhere.

However, as other have suggested, too many idiots would be posting XXX pictures in this forum and the moderators may not catch it in time.
