Upgrading system and going to Vista. Is wide screen good for Vista, and how is it for games?

that is the *only* high point for me in going from 19" Flat CRT [18" viewable 12x9] to 19" LCD WS 14x9

love the WS gaming experience ... STALKER is wonderful ... Fable LC too

Love widescreen, only major concern is the higher resolution ties you to a more powerful GPU. For instance, the roughly equivalent 4:3/5:4 aspects translate to 16:9/16:10:

1280 > 1680

1600 > 1920

2056 > 2560

All of those resolutions differences require a good bit of pixel processing requirements, so if you're planning to make any upgrades make sure your video card is up to the task.

WS adds a new depth to gaming experience,I would only consider WS monitors.

So yes is your answer.

Wide screen it is!!:D

Can someone recommend a monitor? I'm looking in the 20-21" range. I've always been a fan of Samsung.
