Should New LCD be Wide screen?

Upgrading system and going to Vista. Is wide screen good for Vista, and how is it for games?

I personally really like widescreen, but it's a matter of opinion really. Games are getting better with native widescreen support, and http://www.widescreengamingforum.com will help you sort out the rest.

Love widescreen, only major concern is the higher resolution ties you to a more powerful GPU. For instance, the roughly equivalent 4:3/5:4 aspects translate to 16:9/16:10:

1280 > 1680

1600 > 1920

2056 > 2560

All of those resolutions differences require a good bit of pixel processing requirements, so if you're planning to make any upgrades make sure your video card is up to the task.
