Should my Tbird 850 be running at 100 or 133fsb?

I've got a Socket A T-bird 850 on a Gigabyte motherboard with manual jumpers to set the FSB. The machine will only post at 100-112fsb, (If I set the jumpers for 112fsb I end up running at 952mhz, which is pretty stable considering this board doesn't allow for multiplier or voltage adjustments). If I try 133fsb I get a blank screen at bootup. Anyways, shouldn't it be able to post at 133fsb with a lower multiplier (6.5?) or is 100 normal? I'm using 512mb pc133 crucial ram.

The 850 is meant to run at a 100 fsb, but with the right motherboard, it could probably do 133 by changing the multiplier.

What mobo do you have? Sounds to me like you have a KT133 board, which only supports 100 fsb... (it'll do a little higher, but it won't get to 133)

The processor would probably post at 133 MHz FSB with a multiplier at 6.5 or maybe 7, but since you said your mobo won't allow multiplier adjustments, I am not sure why you asked. The reason I say the processor would post is there might be other things involved when yuo overclock that much. For instance if your mobo does not provide the right divider for your AGP and PCI slots you would also be overclocking those by 33%. Anyway, just another reason that it might not be working.

Thanks for the replies, sorry I wasn't very clear in my original post. I was wondering if the motherboard would automatically select the correct multiplier to go along with the 133fsb. But like you guys said, it's designed for 100fsb, and it works fine the way it is so I'll leave it alone. Oh yeah, my board is a KT133. Thanks again
