Should my system be able to handle this?

System is in signature.

Should my system be able to rip a DVD to a hard drive, play music using iTunes as well as posting a blog entry without studdering?

As I'm writing my blog entry I notice my music will studder like it is almost ready to crash. I'm watching event viewer and see no issues.

Is this just a minor quirk or should I be concerned? Or should I upgrade to an X2 if I want to be doing this many tasks at once?

What are you ripping the DVD with? It may be that you need to set a lower priority for the DVD ripping or a higher priority with itunes. DVDShrink and WinAMP allow you to set priority.

I was just wondering if my system should be able to handle something like this or if it's normal to stutter a little.

my 3000+ winchester can find the first 32 million digits of pi, run prime95, download huge files (if you insist it was 3dmark05), and run half life 2 at 640x480 all at the same time (just so you know, the lower the resolution, the more cpu intense it becomes). ummm, yeah your computer should be able to handle it.

EDIT that's not overclocked.

Uhm, no it doesn't. The limiting factor might be the CPU at low resolutions but it doesn't stress the CPU more than at high.

then i'm not suprised... maybe if it was overclocked it could take it better but DVD burning is quite stressful with no 2nd logical or actual excution core.
