Hi there,
I just put together a new system and have been running some benchmarks etc. to make myself feel good about laying out some cash... and I've found something odd.
I built and formatted my 2 new SATA drives into a RAID array that windows seems to recognize just fine. However, I loaded HD tach and am only getting 60 or so MB/s from the raid array. My 60 gig solo drive is beating the array by a significant amount of data flow.
I realize the RAID array may have a slower access time than the solo drive, but I expected them to have a much higher thoughput. I used AIDA 32 to check the status of the RAID and it shows: "Max UDMA Mode = 6" and the "Current UDMA M0de = 0" Should I be seeing this?
My solo drive registers as it is supposed to: "Max Udma Mode = 6" and "Current UDMA Mode = 6".
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
BOB
