Their is always a taboo with kids being killed in movies, kill all the teens and adults you want its fine but show a kid dieing and you cross the line! I don't think showing kids dieing is that bad, they killed a kid in a gruesome way in 30 days of nights and it wasn't that bad.
It is after all just a movie.

As a parent, I hate to see it and usually won't watch. Before I was a parent, it really didn't bother me. Things change......

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as it isn't too gory.

If the situation allows it, yes, I'm all for it.

Just saw the movie Feast. In addition to being good all around, well, let's just say that the kid does not live up to the life expectancy that they quote for him when he's first seen.

Some other movies where kids get it: Mimic, Pitch Black, Jaws, Assault on Precinct 13 (original), H20, Planet Terror (best death), Fido (mom+car vs zombie bully), Rambo (bloody death for EVERYONE in that movie).

The thing, though, is that very few are ON-SCREEN deaths. Most are off-screen. For massive on-screen, you really gotta go for something like Battle Royale :p

Should kids be killed in movies?

If they absolutely won't stay quiet during the showing of the film, it's your only logical recourse.

I can't remember the name of the film but it had a remake done but the original version a girl was shot in the face and they showed it all. Think it was after ordering a ice cream.

You should watch Funny Games as well.

The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till is real and the show you the body after because his mother wanted people to see what they did to him for whistling at a white women. Really sad. It is really difficult to see. His head was cut in half from the top down the middle and to many more horrible things to even say.

shit there was this kid in No Country for Old Men that would not stop crying...I mean who the fuck brings a kid to a movie like this anyway.

So I break out the glock and smoke that fool. Even the parents clapped.

I see nothing wrong with killing a few kids in a theatre.

That was the question right?

In some films it's very good for kids to get killed, such as Rambo IV.
I mean, if they didn't kill kids in Rambo IV, then it would miss half of the brutality of what's been going on, which basically means you miss half the point of the film.

Sometimes kids getting killed = very essential.
Sometimes it's just for extra shock value/to add more gore. And in some of those cases it's not necessary, but for the most part it's not going to really change anything about the film (like Planet Terror).

Kids are forever getting whacked in fairy tales so why not in the movies? How else will they internalize the morality tales contained therein?

It's what seperates asian cinema from north american.

Kid's are fair game for terrorist attacks, gang beatings on each other etc etc

I know there is an US version (exact remake) coming out but I have seen the German original; that is almost a pointless movie.

No kidding (pun unintentional), I get depressed reading stories about children dying. I can't even remember the last time I saw a movie in which a child is killed.
