Perhaps he'd be kind enough to share some of that, whatever it is, he's smokin'.
And cloning is the right of every human with enough money.

I meant the originator of this thread. I was just playing along with your idea.

First, there are already (and have been) millions of Human clones: twins. It's nothing new.

Second, cloning Humans is the most stupid thing you can possibly do. It's much more efficient to do it either the 'natural' way or to use growing chambers. The best and maybe only use of cloning for us Humans is growing organs or complete limbs to replace parts of our bodies when necessary. No more waiting times of 5+ years, but just a few weeks to grow a new heart, spleen, retina, hand, arm etc. And after the operation, you don't have to take any medicines to keep your body from rejecting 'foreign' tissue.

Can anyone give one, single reason why we should clone Humans? We have zero use for it now and won't have any for it either very soon.

Well hell no you shouldnt clone People. I mean they wouldnt even really have a soul would they? they woudlnt be their own person. However like anything. They woudl make up their own mind. SO the main reason people would clones someone would be to make them their slave.. Did you also read further in that article what happened to the sheep that was cloned. It was cloned from its mother's dna which was 4 years old. The Cloned sheep aged very fastly and died befor the momma sheep. So IMHO i dont belive it would be right..
Damn hummans are so lazy now.

i wouldn`t mind having a little slave for me!
we could make a bunch of minnie mees and sell thim for $5 and 1 that 1 dies go get another for $5!after all they have no soul they have no purpose! so they would age twice as fast so they would live around 25-50 years...tell me y this would be bad?

Yeah...saw that John Stossel show last night...some of those environmentalists are wackos...

It was definitely a different view.

As for cloning humans, I don't think that's good.

It's just sick.

I for one, think cloning is a bad idea. Unless of course they make a machine, and you can like put a donut and it will automatically make two donuts. Well that's just kickass.

People who can't get women. Or, if sperm banks didn't exist, people who can't get men.

I would use aclone for spare body parts. I.E. my liver fails, I lose an arm, etc...

They did that in an episode of Sliders, using clones for spare parts.

It brought up a good point. The clone would be another being. It would be sentient, it would have feelings, and would be an exact copy of yourself (except it wouldnt be as agreeable to using it for spare parts)

It astounds me that one would consider that. The clone would still be human, despite being a clone, its still alive. This is a good couple of steps above slave labor. This is growing slaves to take their vital parts should your own fail you.

People who can't get women are just out of luck. There are plenty of other Humans who can produce offspring. And sperm banks do exist.

Methods like IVF are just as pointless as cloning to produce offspring. If you can't get offspring, accept it. You won't die without offspring to take care off and else there's always the option of adoption, which should take the place of IVF and comparable methods IMO.

I think we should clone people simply because its cool!
and you know its cool.

i think its damn time we started making some of the cool stuff that we see in sci-fi movies, including clones.
