i bought a dell L500r in february, and it was listed as a Pentium III 500mhz. i used CPUID, and it came up as being actually 498.48mhz, and the fsb being 99.70mhz. sisoft sandra saw it as a 499mhz pentium III. is this normal?

Yea, everything should be fine. I had the same thing happen before and think it was just a small flaw in the program.

Yes it is normal and no it isn't a flaw in the program. You would be hard pressed to find any bus speed exactly 100MHz.
