Should Iran or US lead first?

Biden’s Iran policy is that Iran should come back into compliance first before the US should lift sanctions. Iran, obviously, disagrees and believes the US should lift sanctions first before they go back into compliance with the nuclear agreement.

Where does everyone stand on this? Does it matter who goes first? Is the end game more important than any face saving measures that each country might want?

Personally I think that since it was the US that left the agreement and violated it first, that we should be the ones to act first and remove sanctions as a show of good will. Sanctions can always be re added so I don’t see anything negative about removing them first and giving Iran a chance to come into compliance.

I agree, US should go first. 45 torpoedo'd the whole damn thing, so Biden needs to show good faith from the US.
Maybe a staged approach will satisfy both parties:
1. US removes certain sanctions
2. Iran meets X,Y,Z compliance targets
3. US removes more sanctions...
And so on till we're back at the original agreement

Side note: I firmly believe that a lot of our enemies would no longer be enemies if we made amends for past wrongdoings and didn't sanction the living shit out of them. Iran being a prime example.

I imagine it would have to be some sort of phased thing where we remove some sanctions, they make a move, etc.

I’m not sure how effective that will be though as our credibility here is now zero. Iran knows that even if they think Biden is the bestest and most trustworthy guy ever his promises have a four year shelf life.

This problem is not unique to Iran, it’s true with all our international partners. US credibility will have to be painstakingly rebuilt and at great cost to us. Every negotiation will have to address the question of ‘what if there’s another Trump?’ and every one of our counter parties is going to demand a price as insurance against it.

We broke the agreement, not them. They acted in good faith. I think we should drop the sanctions with the proviso that they cease production & comply with the stockpile limits within 6 months. We could give them Pompeo to compensate for killing Soleimani but that'll never happen.

I was just going to give it a like, but yea, let them have Pompeo, please.

Does anyone really care what Fox, right wing media, or republicans, think or say at this point? Basically everything they say now a days sounds like anti American propaganda to me anyway.

Fox News is viewed as the prime news gathering network for many Conservatives. Many Republicans simply believe everything spouted by the most insensitive of Fox's evening talk show hosts.

Its too late isnt it? Iran will be looking at 47 or 48 and be like... we gonna need them nukes yesterday.h
Its over.
Had a chance of peace and the fat fuck fucked it up.
Where it goes from now? No clue. But one thing is 100%, Iran cant trust the US, Biden or no Biden.

Anyone who self-identifies as independent or conservative should be shown the door when it comes to political discussion moving forward. Every single one of them is equivalent to the crazy uncle at this point.

For the sake of everybody, the US needs to show the world its not a rogue state hell bent on terrorizing the world.
We need to be the first to move with Iran.
We absolutely should extradite Trump to Iran since we know he gave the order to murder an Iranian when we were not in a state of war against Iran.
If they want to charge Pompeo with crimes, and if we believe the charges might be legitimate, then we should send him over as well.
Anybody who served in US government and possibly committed war crimes, should be dealt with in that way.

That's not exactly a popular viewpoint at the moment.

But Fox will lie and attack you no matter what you do.
So consideration for them is a non starter.

Fox gonna Fox.
You do you.

Sorry, but if you can’t take the time to articulate what was in the video in your own words then I won’t take the time to watch a random YouTube video.
Guy is surprised that Biden admin had the "courage" to propose having Iran step in to prop up Afghanistan so we can GTFO.
