Are you happy with mid-range?

Why?

I've yet to play anything where I've felt my 680 is letting me down, but I play at 19x12 on a single monitor without 3D. And I don't care about bragging rights.

Given this absurdly overpowered PSU, perhaps you needs to run 2 x Titans in SLI to justify owning it?

Intel17

If you play your games fine then don't do it. Then again, if you have alot of money to burn and love hardware, then by all means.

I wouldn't go 680 SLI at this point due to 2GB VRAM.

There is not enough information to answer your question.

Personally, I don't find it very compelling except in two scenarios.

  1. You want/need to stick with single card and want more than a 7970 will give you.
  2. 680 SLI isn't enough performance for what you're trying to do and so you buy two of these (fewer scaling issues than 4 680s)
Those are the two scenarios that I'd buy 1, or 2 in.

I'm still trying to decide if 2 applies to me or not.

edit: I'd be all over these at a $700 price, and probably so at an $800-850 price as well. That doesn't tell me it's a bad product, or that it is overpriced (it obviously isn't as they're selling as fast as they're stocked still). It just tells me that I'd rather have $2k than 2 of these right now.

lol why does mid-range need to be a letdown?

Think everyone with 6870s and 560 Ti's were let down?

If you're still confused, go look up GTX 560 Ti vs GTX 580, you'll find a similar performance delta.

My vote is yes, sell your 680 and upgrade to a Titan.

I'm trying to find buyers for my 680's and then I will upgrade as well.

Why in the world would you stop with just one Titan? Four is the way to go.

I say go for it. Even at $1,000 these things seem to be flying off the shelves. Gotta get on that hype train with the rest of us. You don't want to be left out.

I wasn't questioning calling the 680 midrange, just to spending $1,000 for no particular reason.

"Because it's there" ?

*shrug* save your money until others are selling their titans off to upgrade to the next iteration, then buy one, if you must have one.

I still have my hd6850 and I am just now finally wanting something better. I see much more useful ways of spending that much money, like on an old car to go sunday cup racing in. :)

Act now or wait it out imo, there is no reason to believe mid-range maxwell won't beat it.

Probably at half the price, or if AMD comes correct possibly even less than that.

Everybody talks about the current recession. What f*cking recession?!? If the Titan is flying off the shelves as fast as they can be made overpriced as they are I feel good about the economy now.
