Currently the lowest end 4.5W processor Intel sells is the Skylake 4405Y which is actually a 6W Pentium 2C/4T GT2 that also be configured as a 4.5W cTDP:

(CPU clockspeed @ 6W is 1.5 Ghz, CPU clockspeed @4.5W not listed)

So if Intel released a 4.5W Celeron based on Core, what CPU configuration do you think it should have?

2C/4T, but clocked lower than 4405Y?
2C/2T?
1C/2T? (perhaps with a relatively high clockspeed)

Also secondarily, what do you feel the iGPU specs should be?

P.S. This 4.5W Celeron based on Core can also be based on the Broadwell die (shown below) as well:

Of the three choices listed, I think a 1C/2T sounds the most interesting to me. With a good turbo, it should have a relatively strong single thread.

This, in contrast, the Braswell N3000 (4W dual core Airmont atom with 1Ghz base clock and 2.08 Ghz burst frequency):

As far as iGPU goes I would hope they could give us 18 EUs.

P.S. Regarding the Braswell Chips, the N3000 is only one with 4W TDP. The rest of them are 6W (or 6.5W in the case of the new J3710). More info here.

Maybe an ideal scenario would be for Intel to use their accumulation of Broadwell 2C/4T GT2 chips (with a defect in one of the CPU cores) to make this 1C/2T 4.5W Broadwell.

Then with the introduction of the 4.5W 1C/2T Broadwell, Intel ceases to bin dual core Braswells as the 4W N3000 and instead bins the dice up to either 6W N3050 Braswell or 6W J3060 Braswell.

So 4.5W 1C/2T Broadwell replaces 4W Braswell. And the Braswell line moves upscale.
