Hi
The specs of this pc are
Athlon 64 3500+, 1 gig corsair XMS pc3200, 80 gig sata hdd, geforce 6800GT.
Sometimes in the game Rise of Nations, when you save a game, it'll give you the blue screen with the hexadecimal code and say the pc has to restart. When it restarts I send the report to microsoft. Microsoft says that it's unknown, but was cause by a device drivers. I guess I don't need to worry about faulty software. This has only happened twice since we've had the pc (since 12/18/04).

Anyway, should I worry about this? It makes me sick becuase my plasma TV recently died and I've gotta get that replaced.

Thanks

dammit - hate it when it gives crap error events

try losing some background progs.
for instance, whilst playing games, do you need antivirus running?
make sure that your startup progs are decimated - only the most useful should stay

Antivirus should really stay on all the time. Anytime you turn it off gives hackers a potential entry point into your system. The likelihood of this actually occuring is next to nill but still there is always that what if.

i think you mean the firewall should stay up.
if your system is secure from any intrusions, then the antivirus is just sitting there hogging resources.

For instance, if the system is clean from virii/adware etc, then, as long as there are no proggies being deposited on the hdd, that drive will remain clean. Firewalls do that job.
antivirus will only pick up stuff that is run or scanned on.
