man, that is gonna be painful. I did something like that during the summer time (8-:430)...drive 1 hr to work (5:30-9)..drive 1 hr back...

very painful...

think very carefully what you intend your GPA to be this semester OR you better have VERY VERY VERY good time managment

Only if you plan to kill yourself this fall. Sure, the schedule sounds doable, but when do you do your homework?

Working fulltime, I will have plenty of funds to outsource the homework requirements. :p

Im not too concerned with homework rite now since I really dont get that much anyway. I know it'd be really hard on me physically and mentally but at least ill be financially well off. I still live with my parents but the only thing I dont pay for is rent and housing related bills. I still pay for insurance, school, etc.

I was thinking of giving it a try for this winter term (about 4 months) and go back to my normal schedule if it doesn't work out.

I dont NEED to work ft but I know for a fact that my parents will stop hounding me if I take responsibility and show some initiative for "once in my life". For the past year, Ive been working 23 hrs a week (3 hrs each weekday, 8 hrs on sunday) but I recently got laid off (worked in airline-related industry). So now, I have been out of work for close to a month and the school term is gonna end in 3 weeks. I have to register in a couple of days for day morning or evening classes and am having trouble deciding.

I started this semester going full time to school while working full time, but I ended up dropping a class. Not because I coudn't handle it, I just didn't like it. It can be done but the only judge can be yourself, do you handle stress well or not?

MaxDSP,

If it is not financially necessary to work full time, then don't. Your studies are far more important then any employment you might hold while pursuing your degree.

Ive been handling so much stress up till now and in fcat, this job would actually reduce the amount of stress I have, relating to expenses, social life, and problems with the parents.

I'm in the same position you are. I've been offered full time at work (only work 25hr/week now), and I hope to be starting school next fall. I plan on taking it until school starts, when I'll end up quitting to go to Toledo.

The only advice I can offer is, from what I've heard, if you plan on working full time, expect to spend 5 years instead of just 4 to make up the extra classes that you'll end up failing. :)

<< You can't work full time AND go to school full time. That doesn't make any sense. >>

Are you saying that it's not possible? Two of my friends currently do that; work 9-5, school 6-whenever, workout everyday for 1.5 hours, and have the weekends free.

If you are just being dramatic, then that's the same reaction I had when my friends told me about their schedules too. ;)

Just one problem: school is year-round, we just get 1 month of vacation in summer. I will be graduating February 2003
