Should I Wear a Mask?

I'll be taking a long flight next week--about 5 hrs. I bought a pack of surgical masks so I won't be breathing crappy airplane air, but am having second thoughts--Don't wanna look like Michael Jackson.

Both outside and the air tanks. As the plane is flying, part of the air that flows into the jet intake before being compressed is redirected into the cabin, then it is stored or used.
