Is Clay really that good? I'm looking for Mothers California Clay bar and its friggin hard to find here in Toronto. I found one store that sells it (Canadian Tire) but its out of stock. Its also pretty expensive...$21 CDN when on sale!

If you use it right, it works well, makes the paint squeaky smooth and removes all the rough contaminants that you feel but can't see.

I hate waxing, it's a freaking pain in the ass.

So does the clay bar remove those light scratches & swirls in the paint?

I enjoy waxing, I find it to be relaxing, almost therauputic.

No, scratches/swirl is pretty much physical damage to the paint, it won't get that off. I think they make polish to remove that sort of thing, but I've never tried it.

You have to use a clar bar for yourself to see what it's all about. Be warned though, if you don't use it right, you'll mar or scratch the paint.

Never a bad idea / way to kill an afternoon. I washed and waxed the family wheels to prep them for sale. Hell, even a minivan can look like sex when properly treated with wash, wax, and Armour-All. :D

I'd recommend Zaino - it's not cheap but it's probably one of the best out there for your money. No need to clay bar your car yet, clay is mostly for getting out miniscule dirt particles which have embedded themselves in the paint - a brand new car is not likely to have enough to warrant the time and money in clay.

you know, I was at cruise nite last nite and there were a couple low rider chevy astro vans.

I mean normally you think it's just a stupid van but when they're slammed, painted metallic orange, chrome wheels, polished spotless, back filled with subs and amps, it's a pretty pimp ride. :D

I need to get some Zaino... nothing but good things about it... I'm sick of Meguiars, it's sucks even more than the mass production Zymol. I'd clay major surfaces of my car even if it was new. Bugs, road tar, dust embeds itself pretty readily into paint making the paint rough to the touch and further damaging your paint next time you wash/wax.

I saw some Meguairs' product that claims to remove small light scratches and swirl marks. I forgot the name of it though.

For people-hauling partygoing, a minivan's pretty boss. :D I thought about doing a mockup of ricers for last halloween, and slapping a "Type-R" and fake spoiler/intake/badges/etc on my MPV. :D
