should i wait or no?

after installing the sp1 for xp, my comp has loss some performance...should i wait for the sp2 to come out or just uninstall sp1 to get my performance back?

Install all the other updates as well? You might want to search this and other forums and see if there's a known issue that might be affecting your particular configuration. You may or may not actually get the performance back by uninstalling.

I am not aware of any particular reason why SP1 for XP would cause a performance issue. I would suggest finding a tweak guide on the web, and disabling services that you do not need or use. That may give you back the performance you are seeking. Also, I would not recommend going back to standard XP without the SP. There are a lot of important bug fixes and security patches in there that you should keep in place.

SP1 (as well as several updates) has been known to cause performance problems. Personally, many of the "tweak" sites I see have many tweaks that don't really help performance anyhow. I would do as Lord Evermore suggested, and search the forum and look at what updates have caused people trouble. I know there were several, but can't think of which (ie the recent update that disabled internet connectivity. Or the one previos that slowed some systems to a crawl) I haven't had any issues, so I don't pay these problems much atention, but I know the answers are around here if I have trouble.
