Should I wait? Macbook pro...

So my friend is looking for a new laptop, he has decided for the macbook pro

this is the one he is going to buy:
* 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1440 x 900 resolution
* 2GB memory
* 120GB hard drive1
* 8x double-layer SuperDrive
* NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 128MB SDRAM

when he buys the laptop we are upgrading the ram to 4gb and the hard drive to a 200gb 7200rpm

any ram recommendation or hard drive recommendation would be great!
Also do you think Apple will upgrade the macbook pro line any time soon?
When should he buy, he wants to get the free voucher for 10.5 so he won't have to buy it...

Leopard should be coming out around the 26th of this month or so, so you should just wait.

I'm sure Apple will revise the macbook pros before the holiday season.

yes yes yes buy it! honestly...if you can wait a month, get it with leopard. if not, then get it now and you can buy leopard later for i think $120 or something.

Don't forget if your buddy is a student then he can get it for $1799 before tax. For RAM, I have Corsair in my MacBook and it works great, but most any RAM should be fine. As for the Hard Drive, I have been eyeing the Hitachi 7200RPM drive with the 16MB cache myself. My current stock drive from Apple has a 16MB cache already, so I don't want to downgrade.
