Should I wait for the .13 micron thoroughbred MP?

I am building a dual processor system. I was going to buy the 1900+ MP athlon. I just heard they are releasing a thoroughbred version which is ... I believe.... the same chip but with .13 micron technology. It is due to come out pretty soon.

Opinions?

What is the difference besides the obvious .18 micron to .13 micron?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it seems like the only difference between a .18-micron Athlon and .13-micron Athlon will be the die size of the processor and nothing more. Clock for clock, Thoroughbred (MP and XP) will supposedly be ~ 10% cooler than .18-micron Athlons, although that's still unofficial at this point.

If you can wait, get a Tbred MP.

Good luck with your MP rig. :)

rumored ~10% cooler than an XP chip, but, the contact surface is drastically smaller...

In terms of wattage/sq mm, you're talking about a thoroughbred being 1.5x hotter than an XP chip... something to consider may be that Tbred chips will be harder to cool, and significantly harder
