Should I wait for 680s to come back in stock or go for a 670?

670 it is! Now what's up with the full size PCB vs smaller PCB?

Good choice. Get the 'top' one if you can, it is supposed to be binned with the best cores around.

Newegg has 2 Asus GTX 670s listed.

For an extra $10, the Top model is probably a good bet - worth taking a gamble on it actually being binned:

The OC is huge, higher than some reference cards can get at max overclock. And wow, that's a sexy backplate! (you can see it on the standard model webpage)

For single cards, Windforce GTX670 for $400 or Asus Direct CU cards are excellent (see Termie's link above).

If you plan on going SLI, make sure you have a lot of space or the double slot cards might become air constrained. For those reasons, you may want to consider getting the blower exhausting cards.

$420 EVGA GTX670 FTW on a 680 PCB with the quieter 680 fan.

Found that here: Link

I'm guessing it'll push FOUR monitors with one card?!?! Or is that only in game?

NO!! Surround gaming is 3 monitors ONLY! With a fourth monitor that can be used for whatever.
Sorry for yelling, just wanted to make sure you saw it.

Sorry when i said "push" I was thinking of having my desktop span 4x U2412m monitors. I only game on one.

I wonder how this will work with Thunderbolt

Well since u only game on one, a cheap entry level gpu should suffice.thunderbolt is nice for laptops but not needed in desktops

TB would be great for desktops. Essentially no latency, and when they roll-out the fiber-optic version, you could daisy-chain many displays with a single port. The TB port is very small, and would allow for more connections on a larger card (more area for cooling on the back plate) or more connections on a very small card. Lots of opportunities here.

Also good for external SSDs between my hackintosh and desktop.

ah one more question. I'll be running one of my gtx460's till I get OS X driver for the 670. Since I only use Windows for gaming will having both cards in the machine cause issues? In OS X I can kill a PCIe slot on boot. Is that needed?

Thanks again!

Why is everyone acting like 2gb of Vram is enough for such a huge resolution? You need a 4gb version for resolution like that. 2gb is enough for 1080p, maybe 2560x1600 for some games. BF3 uses over 1.5gb @ 1080p. What does it use at that crazy rez you are running?

1920 x 1200. I don't see 4GB 670s anywhere. Do you have a link? (Besides Zotac. Which is a brand I will not buy)

Bf3 uses 1546mb of vram on ultra at 1920x1080 with 4x msaa. Its the only real game that needs a ton of vram
