I got a 800mhz duron with 192ram and a 4.1 gig drive.

Only reason why im considering xp is because it has regional language support

Windows 2000 should run better.

You could run Windows 98(SE), but don't forget to put the line 'ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1' under [Enh386] in win.ini (or system.ini, always forget in which one it is)

control panel -> system -> advanced tab -> 'adjust for 'best performance'
doing this and reverting to windows classic speeds up XP.

Win 2000 is my first choice, Win XP is my second.

Windows 98SE or Windows NT4.0 are distance 3rds depending on what exactly the computer is being used for.
