Should I use this memory combination or not?

Hello all,

I am wondering if there would be a benefit or drawback to combining these modules for a total of 3 gig. In my sig. you will see my components if it affects the answer in any way. The Corsair is low latency 2225 and the OCZ is 2325, and both are pc3200.

I hope that I have provided enough information. If not, be gentle with me...

P.S. I do not plan to buy faster or more memory at this time if anyone is tempted to suggest doing so...Just want to know what is the best choice for what I have.

Thanks to anyone who chooses to reply.

Running 2 different sized modules will not give the proper interleaving so you will take a perfromance hit in benchmarks.

However, having 3GB of ram will improve Windows performance, etc (snappiness and feel, due to the lack of paging to the hard drive during memory intensive tasks) so you may not notice the decreased performance from the Interleaving, except in a benchmark, etc.

Hope that makes some sense.

I basically understand what you're saying. Would gaming performance take a hit as with the benchmarking, or would the extra gig overcome any negatives?

I know the 2 gig is basically enough, but I have the extra gig and it's basically new, and I just want to get the best overall performance especially as related to the new demanding games.

Thank you ryderOCZ for answering.
