should I use steam when ironing a 55% cotton/45% polyester shirt?

read tag or maybe just very mildly warm.

the tag has three symbols on it:
one with a tub thing with "50 C" in it
a squeare with a circle in it
and a crossed out triangle with "Ci" in it

my iron has a setting for blends of cotton but there is a seperate switch for steam on/off so i'm not sure what to do.
