Should I use Stacker 4.2 in Win98?

I have a laptop from the school with only a 4GB hard drive... I have Stacker 4 for Win95 but it doesn't say 98 on the box. (Too old for that.)
Should I even try using it on this 98 machine? The extra space would sure be nice, although I'm prepared for the lower performance...
 
How about using the drive compression software that comes integrated with Windows 98 - DriveSpace or whatever it is called?
