Should I use one drive per IDE channel on the KR7A-Raid?

I have a Pioneer 16X DVD, a Plextor 24X CDRW, and two IBM 60GXP 60GB HD's in raid 0 on my PC. I have the KR7A-Raid mobo. I want to know if my drives will each have more bandwidth if I assign each to a separate IDE channel. Or should I keep my current setup with two drives per IDE channel?

If you have the hard drives on different channels and ALSO have separate channels for the CD's that is better but you are fine using the HD's on separate channels with CD's as slaves on each channel.

if i have enough ports i would never set any device as a slave 🙂

so yeah i would put each device on its own channel as master

just remember that you can only use hard drives on the onboard raid/ata controller

I prefer to load up all the masters before sharing anything on a ribbon.

It is important not to put any ATAPI device (CDROM, etc.) on the IDE-raid ports.

If possible, never share a fast (ATA/100) device with a slow one (ATA/33 or /66).....

(the result is you get two slow ones)

edit: I've just realized I said exactly the same thing as Boonesmi... (srry bout that)
