It's not really much of an upgrade. You've got an overclocking-capable chipset and CPU, so you'd see about the same benefit just from doing that if you're interested.

I was just considering it because of the 65 dollar discount

(free ram and 15 off the motherboard)

Sandy to Ivy is a pointless sidegrade. You won't be able to OC the 3570K as high as the 2500K, the performance will be the same in the end. And even if it wasn't, it'd still be a pointless sidegrade.

Could definitely upgrade the videocard if you wanted. Although im not one to talk seeing as how I'm using a 6870.

Why would I take the ram when all my slots are full?

I was thinking upgrading my video card but what exactly is the best bang for the buck? 6950 is a great card

The only thing that needs an upgrade there is the GPU. A 6950 2GB is on average slower than the $180 7850. For $360 AR, you can get a 7970 3GB which is about twice as fast as your current card. That'll make a lot bigger impact than a Sandy -> Ivy sidegrade.

Unless you can get that 3570k to 4.7ghz (which you can) or above, it is not an upgrade as a 4.5-6ghz 3570k is about the same performance as a 4.7ghz 2500k. Virtu MVP? That's about it. Haswell comes in late Summer.

There are many Ebay options for around $150. Scout around on their (some are auctions; many have no bids.)
