Should I upgrade to DirectX 8.0a?

I don't know much about DirectX, and the M$ faq didn't help much.

Right now I've got DirectX 6.1a installed. Is anyone aware of any problems (compatibility and such) with DirectX 8.0a?

My system:
AMD K6-2/450
3dfx Voodoo3 3000
Aureal Vortex2 Quad

yeah you should. I have it install and so far nothing is happen to my computer, just better

I forgot to mention that I'm running Win98 SE on this box.

TatSteel: Thanx for the input... What got better exactly? Games worked that didn't before or something?

DX 8a is for Windows 2000, it has alot of enhancments that the X Box will have
