Hello!

as you can see i own a TNT2 M64 video card...
it's crap, i know!

Do you think i should replace it? everything is so slow...
I want a fast video card with great image quality and crisp , clear 2D acceleration.

RADEON 32MB DDR you say?
Is it better than CL 3D BLASTER GEFORCE2 GTS 32MB DDR (32MB version only...)

What about my processor? (it's a katmai.)
would it (processor) hold me from getting the most of my new video card?
Is a 600MHz celeron overclocked to 1000MHz~ possible/better?

Any other solution?
Anyone manage to overclock TNT2 M64?
if so, what core/mem speeds?

Thank you and sorry for my english...

Geforce 2 MX is a good upgrade from a TNT2 M64 but with the prices of Geforce 2 GTS`s (32meg) down to $170 or less and about double the performance I would speed the extra $$$ Just the old .02

BTW wait about 1 or 2 months and get it for a lot less...

One other thing enable your profile with email too...!

The 2d image quality on nVIDIA boards seems to be far from the best. If you want 3d performance and good 2d quality I think the radeon is your only choice(maybe g450)

For your needs the Radeon would be your best bet. I have the 64mb DDR version of the Radeon with a P3 450 and i'm able to play quake 3 high qaulity at 1600x1200 without any noticable frame rate loss, and the 2D quality is amazing. Your system would also probably be much faster if you added another 64 megs of ram, most newer games need a total of 128mb of ram to run smoothly.

Hmmm, tough call. I would have to say wait until Christmas. That will give the Radeon and GF2's time to drop in price when nVidia release the NV20.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Katmai = P3 (512k) 450-600 MHz. Although the newer CuMine's are out and in some cases are marginally faster (the PIII cuMine's anyway) I would have to say that if your processor is one of the faster ones (ie. closer to 600 MHz) you could leave the CPU upgrade for a while - In this case a video card upgrade will most likely yield more performance.

But I'd say wait until christmas, and cash in on the fact that newer technology will make the GF2 and Radeon cheaper, and the fact that retailers will be competing for your money.
