Should i upgrade my PS from 300w to 450w???

OK, ive been thinking about how much power my system would need in the long run. I recently upgraded by adding a new 60gb Maxtor HD and a Toshiba DVD-rom. Here's what ive got right now:

ABIT kT7 mobo
256mb pc133 RAM
Duron 700 mhz cpu
ASUS v7100 Geforce 2MX
Sound Blaster Live! Value
20gb Maxtor DiamondMax (7200rpm)
60gb Maxtor DiamondMax (7200rpm)
Toshiba 16x40x DVD-ROM
Sony CRX140E (8/4/32) CD-RW
D-Link 530TX 10/100 NIC
Motorola 56k v90 PCI modem
300 watt PS

That's all the stuff i gues that's inside.

Outside
NEC 17" FE700
HP printer
Logitech Optical Mouse
IBM natural keyboard
DSL modem
2.1 speakers....

So what do you guys think, would upgrading to a 450 watt PS be logical at this point? Or am i still in the clear. I'm afraid that if i add any more internal components like say another HD or a faster cpu, or combination thereof, i might be pushing it.

no need bro...unless you slap in a TEC or something like that....300 is like standard for all processors. I mean, if it works fine, don't bother...if you're having problems, then of course.

Nope, I get away with a 250 W and I have a little bit more power hungry stuff than u...
But the Watt stuff can be misleading.....quility is also important.. certain brands are better... I forgot which ones....I normally get the ones with all the certificaitons printed on the side......Higher quility ATX supplies also have tendency to have huge ventilation holes at the bottom of the supply as well as on the end......

Put your system under full load and monitor your 5V and 12V readings. 12V relates to fans and drives, 5V relates to motherboard/CPU. If they dip more than 10% then you could potentially have a problem.
