should I try to organize a happy hour for my team?

I went out with some of my co-workers and we briefly talked about me organizing a happy hour in a city about 30 minutes from where we work (I'm a new guy). I told them I'll try to set it up for the following week. Now, I think it was just because people were in a happy mood from the alcohol so I don't think anyone wants to travel 30 minutes just to have a drink. I've made some threads before about my boss disliking me now so what if I try to organize it and no one accepts? It's a small team.

Personally, I really don't know if I want to attend the event myself... it was just an idea that was thrown when we were in a happy drinking mood. I'm not sure if my boss is expecting me to still set it up or not. How should I approach this situation?

edit: the happy hour when we discussed this was over a week ago

Try to set it up for a place that's more convenient. At the same time, ask everyone if they still want to do it at all.

get them real drunk and bring a video camera. That way when that hot upstart is gunning for your job you can tell him to back off or you will youtube his drunken self.
