Should I try the public beta of El capitan?

Just got invited to the beta. I don't need details but I want to know ..."Are you glad you upgraded or have good things about it?" thanks!

My VPN software apparently works from 10.6.8 to 10.10. I can confirm it works in 10.8-10.10, but it doesn't work in 10.11 Public Beta on my MacBook Pro. Arrggh. Mind you it's not the end of the world since I use my Windows 7 PC for VPN these days anyway.

I didn't bother doing a full backup either. Backed up my data but still have a 10.8 install with all my necessary applications, etc. If I do decide to downgrade I guess I'd install 10.8 and then re-upgrade to 10.10. It's not a big deal though, because I don't keep anything permanent on my laptop anyway. As mentioned, my documents are saved elsewhere, and my mail is in the cloud - IMAP.

I'm running it on my Air, and it's pretty decent, no showstopper issues, and the performance is about the same between this and Yosemite.

BTW, I don't like this app store method of installing OS X software and OS updates. It's much easier just having the files immediately available for download instead of having to go searching for them.

Hmmm... I've been on Gigabit Ethernet all this time.

However, I just tried my WiFi, and it no longer works at all. Considering this is a laptop, that's a complete deal killer. It actually says I'm connected to my WiFi router when I look at my WiFi list, but the WiFi icon is constantly in search mode, and I get no internet access.

I guess I'm going back to Yosemite.

EDIT:

After a reboot, it finally connected after 3 minutes of searching. Still, not good enough. Now I start the process back to Yosemite.

I wouldn't install it on a daily driver. That's for sure. Beta software is going to be buggy.

Same on my 13" late 2013 MBP, although the performance is a little better than Yosemite. The 10.11 betas have been fairly stable for me, although I generally don't touch my main Mac with betas.

I am running el Capitan on my macbook but I have my last Yosemite installation mirrored to a USB3 SSD drive in case I need to roll back.
