I built a computer not to long a go with a new ati radeon ve card. On windows start up screen I would get straight lines of dots running down the screen, each line seperated by about an inch and a half. I also get these lines playing video clips and games. At first I thought it was something with my setup but a just built another compute and did not recieve my geforce2 mx int he mail yet so I plopped in my ATI radeon and same deal thoses damn dotted lines. Please help, is there a fix or trash it and get new card.

smart move would be to get rid of it. but it may also need top get RMA'd and also depends on the drivers. all though i liked the 2d the 3d was only good in games off the quake 3 engine

Do you have the latest drivers? That could be the only problem I can think of. Try calling ATI and see if they will give you a RMA. But in my opinion the VE is a really crappy card. Unless you have it for the dual monitors it is pretty much useless. If you still want a Radeon the LE is a good choice. It's cheap and with a few tweaks it can be made to perform like a Radeon DDR.

jkellynewyork, are you running a dual-display setup? If not, why on earth did you get a Radeon VE?
