Roll out your starters for a series or maybe two. Hop out to a lead and then put the second string in. If they continue to mop the floor with the other team put out your third string and so on and so on. Your kids will understand that the other players get PT and you will still win, while not steamrolling the other team.

If you really want to make it competitive, you should play your normal soccer players but spike your teams gatorade. This will debilitate their reactions from a 6-0 team to say an 0-6 teams level and have poor Timmy running into goal posts. After they lose because of the doublevision, you can just blame it on their sloppy practices and poor attitudes and give them the ol' coaches shape up or ship out speech.
