I just took 2 pallets of 17" - 21" monitors to our warehouse. Just can't get up the nerve to throw them out since they work just fine.

Don't do it. It's a space-waster, and if your primary monitor at home dies you know you'll just run out to Circuit City or whatever and just pick up a new one that very same hour. You know you don't want to deal with hauling that big ass thing around and looking at a degraded, dusty box for a picture.

no they're not, if you put a 21" CRT on Craigslist it will be gone within a week. It might be a small % but there are still some of us who only use CRT's. I bought 5 21-22" CRT's off CL's last year, price was too good to pass up. OP's potential monitor is a Diamontron which is baaad ass, as long as the monitor still looks good. No way in hell I'd take a LCD over a good Diamontron!

Do you need a good boat anchor?

If so, I got a 17 and 2 19s wasting my space if you got a few more smaller boats randomly floating around.

Don't do it ... the missus will likely be pissed :p
so true. good point.

Yeah, my wife would be pissed if I brought home a 21" monitor. The first words would be, "where are you going to put it?" And she'd be right.

CL is all local isn't it? I never see anything for sale on there saying they'll ship it. I drove about 11 miles, gave him $100 and walked away with 5 CRT's. I was stoked, I know they're old so they might die, that's why I bought them all. This way I should be good to stay with CRT until I die or Microsoft somehow forces us to use LCD. If that never happens I can be buried with my 22" Trintron by my side :D

Got a thiple monitor setup on my main desk (2 PCs, using synergy so I can treat the second PC as if it were just another window on the main box, 24inch LCD in the middle and then 19inch CRTs on each side), I wouldn't mind making my secondary machine into a dual monitor setup :)

Synergy is literally one of the best things evar!

Did your desk break in two ?

it developed a pretty significant bow.

I use a 19" LCD and beside it is a 21" flat CRT with my desktop extended. I had to take the stand off the CRT, and set the LCD stand on a pair of dead hard drives (no height adjustment), but the screens are lined up very nearly perfectly as their heights are almost identical. Primary at 1280x1024 and secondary at 1360x1024. Plus, all those 20 second porn video clips look so much better on the CRT :D

not worth the electricity and space it consumes. plus its probably old and faded...so its image will suck, or soon will. we are at cheap 19" lcd for ~ 100-150 bucks these days. crt you cant sell for anything lol, depending on your area..you might have to pay for electronic waste disposal..

if I remember right (got rid of the desk like 5 years ago), the center was like 2-3 inches lower than the ends.

that's what happens when you put a 100lb monitor in the center of a folding 6-ft table ;)
