I would like to improve my scores and possibly get merit scholarships. I did really bad two times. First time I got 1050 and the second time 1070 math+reading. But if I take the SAT again in Dec5, I won't know my scores until like January something probably. That will be after I send out my applications to colleges. If I do get accepted and not get many scholarships with my grades, can I show them the new SAT if I did better to get more merit money? What would you do, I also tried ACT but I got only a 23. I mean I get freakin straight A's in high school honors classes and rank top 10%, but I can't do good on these damn tests.

Sometimes they will do that, simply have to ask the admissions office. Luckily for me though my school didn't require the highest SAT scores. I also did poorly on them. Did much better on the ACT though. Far as I can remember your ACT score isn't too bad.

When I applied to colleges I had a 25 on the ACT, and got accepted. The school I ended up going to gave a $2000 scholarship with that score, but I didn't accept it right when they offered it to me. I took the ACT again and got a 29, and they updated the scholarship they offered me to $4000. So yeah most schools should do it, just make sure to have your scores sent there.

So yeah take it again. Just make sure to send in your applications before December 1st, because I think that's when most schools have deadlines for merit based scholarships.

With my ACT score, it is a high reach to get into a state school. I have till tonight to register for the SAT, and I don't know if I should waste another 68 dollars..
