Should I switch to Vista? Need opinions

I've just upgraded my system to the popular Core 2 Quad with the intent of doing some overclocking with it. My question is this: how well does Vista work right now with my hardware? For instance, I heard some bad things about SLI a few months back, and I can't really find any conclusive articles saying whether they've fixed the driver problems or not yet.

My hardware:
nVidia 680i chipset mainboard (ASUS Striker Extreme)
--soundmax HD audio onboard
2 SATA hard drives
DVD recorder (how well does Nero work under Vista?)
2x nVidia Geforce 6800 GS 256 MB (SLI - does SLI work well for DX9 games?)
2GB DDR2-1066
APC UPS with PowerChute software
Logitech QuickCam Zoom webcam
Canon MP530 print/scan/copy

Software I absolutely need to work:
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
Nero
Daemon Tools (or equivalent)
iTunes (cannot live without it and my iPod Nano.)
and games in general. (Steam games, and Supreme Commander, specifically).

Thanks in advance for any advice - this will dictate the course of my next system reinstall.

-Nero doesn't work good with Vista yet AFAIK. It trashed my Vista system last time I used it, completely messed up my codecs.
-iTunes works good, but nothing else works with my iPod. I hate iTunes, or more specifically Quicktime which I'm forced to install with iTunes.
-Daemon Tools is fine.
-All the games I tried are fine, Supreme Commander worked OK, AFAIK there are no problems with Steam games although I don't have any.

I'm not sure how the Nvidia drivers are going to work with 6800's. You should look into a 8800GTS 320MB, it'll kill your SLI setup, and work fine with Vista.

You should run the Vista Upgrade Advisor to check on compatibility of your hardware & software.

-Nero doesn't work well with XP sometimes too. But more or less, yeah, not cool with Vista. I use it though just fine, older version. At work with newer builds, it doesn't work all too good.
-iTunes doesn't work good for me, even after the last update.
-Codecs...oh man codecs. A PITA in Vista. VLC usually clears it up, but still some media files...sheesh! Took me a couple days to get it right.
-All the games work for me too.

Vista comes down to a personal decision. Otherwise, from XP, there is no real reason to upgrade.

Here is my experience with Vista x64 and some software you meantion.

Adobe 8 is fine(not tried the others you have).

Nero 7 latest version works fine (I used it with my external USB DVD burner and internal DVD drive),however Nero is getting too bloated in my experience(nearly 200mb ) so I have switched to Ashampoo Burning Studio 7,small in size(under 30mb) and very nice software.

Game wise no problems,I play a lot of Steam games like CS,TFC,DoD etc...
classics like Baldur'Gate,KOTOR,ut2004 all run great.

Quicktime works ok for clips etc..,however I could never get Quicktime VR to work in Firefox or IE7 with Vista x64.

iTunes I installed ,but it never got used so I uninstalled it.

It's hard to give compatibility on specific programs since we all use different software,so check with their website/forums for more info on specific stuff.

Daemon Tools works fine provided that you have a recent version of it.

To my memory, though, iTunes has definite problems. Something about not having conformed to specs 9 months after RTM, ya know?

I tried Vista out on my test box, and thats where its staying for the time being.

Far too many problems and annoyances to get anywhere near being used on my day to day rig.

In the end, I decided there was no reason to ruin a perfectly good and working XP x64 installation.
