I bought a refurbished Antec 500w for $15 shipped. It's in my main system for about 2 years now. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I just added a GTX 460 and it seems to be doing well.

I just bought an Antec BP550 Plus for $45. I hear "it it ain't broke, don't fix it" a lot... so what should I do? nice clean power to my PC or just keep that refurb in there?

If it was me, I'd swap the PSU with the new one...and keep the refurbished unit as a backup.

I'd be curious to know what Antec does when they refurb a PSU. Some places are better than others when it comes to refurbishing.

IMO, if there's nothing wrong with the one you've got in there, then just keep using it.

The refurb is the Earthwatts in your sig, right? Weren't the old Earthwatts made by Seasonic? That should be better than Delta-made BP550.

But in any case, I would stick with your current config.

+1 for keeping the current PSU in your system. Save the new PSU for your next build or keep it as back up.
