Should I swap my Seasonic 500w with her 430w?

Having problems with an eVGA 7800 GT. Pretty sure I just happened to get a bad GPU, but this system is running off of a 430w Seasonic S-12 PSU. I have a 600w & 500w in my system, and I was thinking about swapping the 500 & 430. It's a difference of 4 amps on the +12V rails, which isn't too bad.

//NOTE: This thread was previously titiled "Do you have a 7800 GT; What brand and size PSU do you have??"

i have 2

using a 500watt seasonic S12

you should be fine, the 7800GT are pretty frugal (in relation to GTX,X1800,X1900) when it comes to power.

Okay. Because I'm getting all kinds of artifacts on splash screens. Also, I can't install drivers at all. I've already contacted Newegg about getting an RMA. I did some searching, and supposedly, eVGA had a bad batch go out.

yeah sounds like a bad card. though looking at your specs you have a lot of hard drives to power, though it also says u have a couple of PSU's too lol so i dunno

Oh, no. This is for the machine my wife built. I've got a 6800 GT OC in my machine. Just this new machine is giving us problems.

I have two EVGA 516s and an OCZ Modstream 520W (28A on 12V). The 7800 GTs don't consume all that much power.

I was worried about "only" having a 500W w/ 26A PSU when I got my 2nd 7800GT. My 6800Ultra AGP forced me to upgrade my PSU. But my two 7800GTs don't use much more juice than my single 6800Ultra.

Where did you read that EVGA had a bad batch go out ? At least on the EVGA forums, you'd be hard pressed to find any techs admit to that ... bad PR is ... umm ... bad.

On ATF here, and the large amount of artifacting problems on their forums.

Here's the AT Video thread. Namely the post by Budarow on 22JAN06 @ 12:07 AM.
