Should I stay with Dell or go Alienware?

Here's my issue, I have a Dell 8200 with a p4 1.6 p4m and a Geforce 4 go 440 mx 64 meg card. I'd like to have the ATI card but seeing that both Dell and Alienware offer the M9 right now, I'm left wondering if I should buy a system now and hope they come out with a 9600 chipset that will fit or if I should just wait x amount of months for the chips to come out. I like the fact that the Area 51-M (Alienware) has a desktop P4 so I can at least get the 2.4 for now and later upgrade to the 3.06 but if I can't upgrade the VPU then its just going to be the 9000 that's currently installed. I have sent repeated e-mails to Alienware to see if they will have an upgrade path. I guess they're talking to Clevo to see if their engineers will take ATI's design becasue I haven't recieved a reply. Now on the Dell side, ATI showed a demo (don't have the avi clip anymore) with an I8200 when they debuted the 9600. However, Dell also hasn't mentioned anything in terms of upgradeability, then again they don't condone that type of thing ;) . Does anyone have any answers to guide me on my choice here? Any help would be appricated. Thanks!

I really recommend not going with a desktop processor in a laptop. They run very hot, and suck power.

My friend has an area 51-m, that thing weights like 9 pounds (without the huge power brick AC adapter). Not what I'd call portable by any means.

LOL...OK OK I get the message! I'm placing an order to get the 8500. Someone wants to pick up my 8200 and I figure since Dell changed the system the new m10 should fit into this in the future.
