Currently i have a 7800gtx 256. I have an SLI motherboard and am thinking about adding a second card. The monitor i use can only go up to 12x10 res, so i am wondering if it will be worth it.

Probably so for newer games. How much will you be paying for the second 7800gtx? You could sell your current one for around 200 and spend another 2-350 and get an x1900xtx or 7950GX2 ... both of those might be a bit overkill for your res in most games currently but probably not future ones. (or Oblivion now). An XT even for about 330 would be a great performer
 
One should be enough for most current games.
You should be fine. Just make sure to OC it 😉

If you were getting the second one for some kind of steal price then yea, I'd go for it. If not, one is just fine for that resolution.
 
I could get the second for $235. I would prefer a single card solution, anyone wanna 7800gtx for $200? 😛

ebay is probably your best option if you want to sell it. Unless you know someone that wants it.
