Should i skip Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme? Real issues?

With that many issues, I would skip it. After reading that thread, I have decided to take it off my list. Not sure what else to get other than EVGA FTW 1080.

I would also consider the MSI gaming X and Zotac AMP/AMPextreme options.

I went for the MSI 1080 Gaming X but it has buzz/coil whine.. fml

Tried to run it overnight for a few days to see if it would go away but no dice, time to replace it with another one and pray it will be silent, shame too because it's stable at 2126mhz core with fans on auto.

When the first batch of gtx 1080s came up on newegg, the first one they had in stock was the gigabyte g1 gaming, heres the link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125869

I got the first batch of cards they had and haven't had a single issue with mine. Thermals are extremely low, fan noise isn't excessive, overclocking has been rock solid. I absolutely love this card and wouldn't trade it for any other.

It's also kind of nice having the ability to change the color of the logo to whatever you would like, or by temp. That way I can just glance over and see my all matching red and black theme, or if I wanted to have a dark red for 80C temps I could, but I never see about 58C after several hours of looping benchmarks so I am pretty content.

I would personally go with the cheapest 1080 you can find as they all overclock to roughly the same levels. It's always the silicone lottery, but its a very narrow range from low clocks to high clocks on air cooling really.
