Should I shave my head?

I shave mine (no guard). Just make sure you use a longer guard on the first attempt otherwise you will show your gray scalp. Hit the tanning bed.

I shaved my bald for a few months. I liked it, however shaving it every other day became a pain. If your going to do it, take it all the way down😉

Well, I went ahead and shaved it. I went with a 3/8" so that my bright-white skull wouldn't show too bad. Looks good, as I have a pretty round & symetrical head. I'll have pics in the morning when I get to work (where the digicam is).

I shave 1/2" and its just as good as any haircut I've got.. plus its easier and you can always have it look like you just got your hair cut.

I'd vote yes, but you've already done it... so I'll just say that through college, I saved a ton of money by buying some Wahl's and shaving my head meself.

Me too, hence why it feels pretty old school ... takes me back 🙂

Heh, I'd do it again but the business environment really doesnt do well for shaved heads, so I just take it real close... but I still have to pay for it. Flowbee maybe? Hmm.

My hair grows really fast, where I should cut it every 2 weeks. But I never do, because I don't feel its worth it. So I began shaving my head with a #4 clip a few years ago. I'm sure the savings has added up by now.

did you ask your girlfriend? I think she needs an opinion too...

oh...nevermind, I was thinking of another head.

I agree that shaving it is the way to go. I used a #2 guard for a year or so before I grew it back out for some interviews, and haven't gone back to shaving it in part because I have a nasty little lump on my head that I need to get taken care of before I won't look like a freak with a shaved head.

At any rate, shaving it yourself>>>paying for a haircut. Not to mention the savings in shampoo--when I have hair, I have to shower every morning and spend time gelling my hair in the morning. Without hair, I could occasionally skip the shower and just roll outta bed and straight into the car and on my way to work. Especially good for those hungover mornings where 15 minutes of sleep can mean the difference between shaky and spending your morning hiding in the office bathroom.

Shave it all the way off

I picked up some headblades off ebay and absolutely love them.

Have to be cut or badass to carry off the Mr Clean look though

OK, so where's the best place to get supplies to cut your own? I figure I'll start at 1/2", or maybe 1/4, then maybe work my way shorter as I get a little tan. I heard Wahl is good (?). Where can I get the best deal on it? Thanks.

PS I need a haircut real bad now, but holding out to get the DIY equipment. :Q

PPS Can you use the same equipment to trim your ear hairs?

Ugh... most guys shouldn't shave their heads. If you're cheap, why not just grow it longer?

I didn't cut my hair for a number of years. Long hair is a lot of work. It's tougher to clean it, you have to brush it all the time, the long hair clogs your drains and you find hair here and there. If your hair is really short, you don't have to comb it at all, you can wash it in a minute. Much lower maintenance. Besides that, if you DIY, you save a lot of money on haircuts.

That doesn't change the fact that most guys look goofy with shaved heads. Long hair really isn't much work, and doesn't require brushing for everyone. I've had long hair for probably 10 of the last 15 years, and I only comb it a couple times a day.
