I have Final Fantasy 10 and Metal Gear Solid 2 for it. I mostly use it for DVDs as I've beaten both games. Are there any really strong, fairly cheap PS2 or PS1 (since it's backwards compatable) games out there that you recommend?

These would need to be games I can get at Walmart or Sam Goody.

If I sold it, how much would it be worth? I was hoping to get $150 for it.

Sorry, this is not the For Sale/Trade forum, and we do not permit price checks or auctions.

You probably won't get $150 unless you include shipping and another controller.

You should trade it for Gamecube. Much better games IMO.

$142 + $24 shipping for a PS2
vs
$150 no shipping for a PS2, Final Fantasy 10, Metal Gear Solid 2, and an 8MB memory card

I think mine is the better deal.

Edit: My roomate has a Gamecube, so I can play his whenever I want. Besides, I'm starting to get bored with video games, but I'd keep the PS2 if I could find a few new solid titles.

Id sell it and put it towards a nicer dvd player. I dont play many games either anymore and my ps2 just collects dust.

PS2 is in a slow decline. It will be replaced relatively soon, and the games will be backwards compatible. If you plan on buying a PS3, I would recommend selling your PS2 soon.

That being said, I wouldn't sell the games. You never know when you will get the urge to play either game years down the line. Also, considering the shear number of titles availabe for the PS1 and PS2, I am surprised you haven't found more titles you like...

That's on computers, AFAIK. People post questions about the prices of everything else, so I assume this should be legal. Then again I seem to be getting my threads locked about 50% of the time lately, so it wouldn't suprise me. I must have pissed off some of the mods again.

I'm pretty sure it is price checks in general. Not only towards computers.

Does it really matter?

Actually it does. I had asked about something similar and it had gotten locked. The mod told me NO price checks AT ALL. So, no fair, right?

PS2
Grandia II
Gran Turismo
Kingdom Hearts
Onimusha
Devil May Cry
Xenosaga

PSX

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, Anthology, Origins, Tactics, Chronicles, Collection (Yeah, I'm a FF fan boy :| )
Xenogears
MegaMan X4
Chrono Cross

Just some of my favs. Give some of them a chance before you give up on the PS2. It may not be the best performance-wise, but there are still fun games for it and the PSX.

I would sell it and pick up a game cube as soon as the cube hits $70 or so. Cool games and such.

<--- waiting for the cube to hit $70ish as well.

waggy: call 1-800-345-SONY and tell them you're getting disk read errors, they'll waive repair costs on PS2s that are even out of warrentee (worked for me). Unless it's modded ofcourse.

As far as good cheap PS2 games go:
Circuit City has Hitman 2 and GTA3 for $15/ea
EB has Onimusha 2 for $16
Buy.com has Need For Speed: HP2 for $20

Well, I'm fine with you selling your PS2 if you can't find any games that you want to buy for it.

But... I'm thinking you should give me MGS2. I'll even pay shipping! :D

Mine was giving me hassles too, until I fixed it last week. All it took was a couple of screwdrivers and about 30 minutes and now it works like I just bought it.

Check out section 6.1 for a simple fix that seems to permanently solve the problem.
