I don't really use it anymore, I use my laptop 95% of the time, but I've been keeping the PC because I want to play half-life 2 when it comes out.

The specs on the PC are:
Epox RDA8+ Motherboard
Radeon 9100
256mb Crucial ram
Athlon XP 1600+
SoundBlaster Live Value (from when they first came out)
Panasonic 16x slot-load DVD
160GB Maxtor HDD
8x SCSI CD-R (it's old, yeah, I know)
Dell 1800FP 18" LCD.

The thing is, is it really worth much money, aside form the LCD? Is it even worth selling it?

I dunno... what would you do?

where would you sell it? You built it yourself correct? I want to sell my entire PC without taking it apart and putting it up in FS forum.

I'd part it out, you could probably get fairly good money for most of that stuff (especially the SCSI CD-R and the HDD and the Radeon).

Keep the LCD - can you attach your iBook to it?

Take out an ad in the classifieds.

If I sold it, I'd probably part it out. And yes, I can use the LCD w/ the iBook as a second monitor.

Don't you mean 8RDA+? Anyway, you may be able to get about $800 from your local newspaper... I don't really know. I just used the calculator and estimated the price of your parts put together and it turned out to be about $750. I'd sell it...

Okay how about my rig?
p4 1.6 -> 2.4
forgot which MB
lite-on 24x cdrom
toshiba dvd
80 gb maxtor 7200 8mb
80 gb maxtor 5400
audigy
Gainward 4200Ti
512 ddr2700 samsung

the problem is that I got a fan bus in there, if I took the fanbus out the thing would run super loud. I have to turn on the fans if I run heavy load or the thing over heats. Well I guess I could clock it back down to 1.6. I guess I'm better off parting the thing out. I want to replace it with a SFF (shuttle most likely) box.

If you don't use it, then sell it now before it loses too much value. Plus I'd bet it would need a little upgrade anyways to play half-life 2 well. If I were you, I'd consider selling it whole though. With college starting up in a few weeks it is the perfect time to go to a local college/university and put up some fliers.

I've been asking myself the same question, but not sure where I would sell it at. People in the FS/FT forums won't pay half what a machine is worth nowadays :). I guess the newspaper is always possible.
