Should I sell my card now or keep mining and wait a few weeks?

I posted my R9 390 on craigslist just to see what responses I'd get. Today I was just offered $280 from a local buyer. As an aside, I got the card for $320 back in September, so I'd be getting most of my money back.

Here are my thoughts on the situation: I'm interested in a getting a Polaris 10 card when they come out. This could end up a sidegrade with lower power usage most likely, but we'll see in a few weeks.

Should I accept the guy's generous offer now and twiddle my thumbs until we get more info, or continue to mine in my off-hours and potentially get a terrible resale price when others start to dump their cards?

Um, my honest advice is to take that offer now... you won't get $280 when the 1070 drops. And as more people jump on the Ethereum train, mining revenue will decrease.

If all else fails, you could buy that 390 again for cheaper once Polaris 10 drops.

If you are for sure set on upgrading, including possibly spending a bit more for a 1070, or the HDMI 2.0a/DP1.3/4K video acceleration and lower power usage of Polaris 10 excite you, I'd sell. For me, I have 3 Hawaii cards and I will keep mining. I figure neither the 1070 nor Polaris 10 will drop until June 10th at the earliest. The early cards will probably be mostly reference cards and will sell out. That means almost a month of mining. A single Hawaii card makes $50-60 USD in that time. I mean if you have a spare card you can use, and you are for sure aiming to upgrade, take the deal. Otherwise, you may be without a card until 1st or 2nd week of June. Just keep that in mind.

RS always has those "nuggets" of sound financial advice.

1 How much per month do you make mining?

If you make $50 per month and the Earliest you can get a comparable Polaris is late June you've lost at least $50 if not more.

Will your 290 drop more than $50 from the $280 you have an offer for? Do you have a card to hold you over?

I think in his situation I'd probably sell. Get $280 for a 390 and hope Polaris 10's shine unveiling means we'll have after-market P10 and 1070 cards in the $299-379 range around June 15-20th. The only thing is having no PC for about a month.

280 is pretty good for a used 390

here is a new one for 320 and a 20 dollar rebate.

I have purchased the one above for under 300 last week it was 298.
