Should I see a doctor for this

Last night me and some friends were screwing around playing ball. I was in sandles and I stepped funny and rolled my ankle and heard a loud pop. It hurt like hell at the time and still does. I've taken pain killers and they did nothing. I put ice on the ankle last night and this morning. There's some visible swelling, but no discoloration. Should I go see a doctor. It really hurts every time I step on it. I don't think it's broken, but could possibly I have torn a ligament or maybe is this just a bad sprain. Any suggestions are appreciated.

No - you just need to run it out. I recommend a treadmill on a 5% incline for 45 minutes.

...60 minutes you softie.

As far as your injury, a break heals better that soft tissue injuries most of the time. Sounds like soft tissue injury, but without an x-ray I am just guessing.

if you have insurance, go immediately to your doctor

if not, then wait for some more posts here, and start a poll, make the last choice "do nothing and risk being a cripple for life"

I probably would have gone to a doctor today, but I still have some finals left, including one at 6:00

haha atot is of course the best place to go for medical advice, certainly better than any doctor

it usually takes a few days to get visibly dicolored. if you can move your ankle around (even it if hurts a lot) and the swelling is localized at your ankle, chances are that it's just a really bad sprain.

also if it's not contorted in any way, even if there is a break it would probably be a hairline, for which the treatment would be just about the same as a sprained ankle.

This is the worst advice I've ever heard. All you have to do is saw your leg off just above the ankle. No more ankle, no more ankle pain. You don't even need a doc, just use a sawzall or hacksaw.
